NYAAF Releases 2025-2026 Strategic Plan!

Founded in 2001, the New York Abortion Access Fund (NYAAF) is New York’s only statewide abortion fund. For more than two decades, we have bridged the gaps between the legal right to an abortion and the ability to actually access one.

Up until 2022, NYAAF was an all-volunteer collective. After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, we made the strategic decision to pivot to a staffed organization to better meet the moment and serve our increasing number of callers.

NYAAF is proud to release our 2025-2026 Strategic Plan to memorialize the changes we have already made as an organization, clarify our identity, and guide our journey over the next three years. This strategic plan—our first ever—is a labor of love and a living blueprint.

Deeply rooted in our commitment to reproductive justice, collective liberation, and community care, our plan outlines purposeful pathways toward advancing abortion access, organizing for systemic change, and strengthening our resilience. Recognizing that the landscape we navigate is dynamic and often unpredictable, this plan intentionally balances clarity with adaptability, leaving space for creativity and growth.

At every step, our actions are grounded in our newly embraced core valuesJoy and Pleasure, Lived Experience, Radical Empathy and Trust, Adaptability and Sustainability, Integrity and Accountability—ensuring alignment between who we are, how we work, and the futures we strive to build. By centering the voices and leadership of those most impacted by reproductive injustices, we move forward together, boldly envisioning and actively creating a world where abortion is accessible and celebrated as fundamental to bodily autonomy, healthcare, and human rights.

Within these pages, you'll find a clear articulation of NYAAF’s priorities for the coming three years, organized around five strategic pillars:

  1. Advance Access for Abortion Seekers

  2. Organize for Reproductive Justice and Liberation

  3. Build Capacity for Adaptability and Sustainability

  4. Lead with Values

  5. Resist

As you explore this plan, we invite you into deeper conversations about how we will show up courageously, thoughtfully, and authentically for each other and for our communities.
